Neck & Shoulder Pain Treatment in McKinney & Allen, TX
Neck and shoulder pain creeps into everything: your work, your sleep, even checking your blind spot. I treat it one-on-one at your home or office, and I can look at your actual workstation while I’m there.
Sound familiar?
Neck stiffness that builds through the workday
Headaches that start at the base of your skull
Pain reaching overhead or behind your back
Shoulder pain that wakes you when you lie on it
Tingling or pain running down your arm
Trouble turning your head to check your blind spot
What usually drives neck & shoulder pain
Desk and screen strain. Holding one position for hours, more than “bad posture” itself, loads the same tissues all day. Variety and strength are the fix.
Tension-type headaches. Tight, sensitive muscles in the neck and upper back can refer pain up into the head.
Rotator cuff irritation. The small muscles and tendons that control your shoulder get irritated by overuse, a sudden load or weakness.
Pinched nerve. An irritated nerve in the neck can send pain, numbness or tingling down the arm.
How I treat neck & shoulder pain
Every session is a full hour, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Find the cause: A full evaluation of your neck, shoulder blade and shoulder, including nerve and strength testing.
Ease the pain: Hands-on manual therapy, dry needling for tight, sensitive muscles, and gentle movement.
Strengthen and support: Targeted work for your shoulder blades, rotator cuff and deep neck muscles.
Set up your day: Workstation tweaks and movement breaks that keep pain from building back up.
Why treating it at home helps
I can assess your real desk, chair and screen setup and adjust it on the spot.
Sessions at your office fit around meetings, so you don’t lose half a day to a clinic visit.
Exercises use what you already have, like a doorway, a wall or a resistance band.
When to see a doctor first
A sudden, severe headache unlike any you’ve had
Dizziness, double vision, or trouble speaking or swallowing
Numbness or weakness in both arms or hands
Clumsiness or trouble with balance when walking
Neck pain after a fall or car accident, or with fever
If any of these apply, seek medical care right away. Call 911 for sudden stroke-like symptoms.
Common questions
Is my posture causing my neck pain?
Posture plays a smaller role than most people think. Staying in any one position too long is usually the bigger issue. We focus on movement, strength and a better setup.
Can physical therapy help headaches?
It can help headaches that come from the neck and tight upper-back muscles. I screen your headaches at your evaluation to make sure PT is the right fit.
Do I need an X-ray or MRI for shoulder pain?
Most shoulder pain can be assessed without imaging. If your evaluation suggests a tear or something that needs a doctor, I’ll tell you.
Can you treat me at my office?
Yes. Sessions can happen at your office as long as there’s a private, comfortable space to work.
